First ride & something tells me the tyre choice was wrong…Totally clogged up by North Wales finest goop! Still, the weather held up & made for a glorious ride. I appeared to have forgot to pack fitness & nerve though (maybe something to do with stacking it on my first run due to muddified front wheel doing its own thing) but I’m sure some practice will sort that out.

After getting mauled by some proper border collies (emabrassing as one near took my shorts clean off!) not a soul up the mountain. Just brilliant, if a little spooky.

Always good to discover some new routes as well. Especially when they pop you out with views like this…..

After the first mudslide run, managed to nail a couple of more rocky runs. Weird, but I’ve never actually been glad to see roots – new tyres actually hooked up better on the slippery little suckers better than they did on the mud.

I’m also a total goggle convert. Tried out some new Oakley O frames with lucozade…sorry, persimmon…lenses & they rule. Totally mud-free face, only fogged up when I stopped, & the lens worked perfectly to let me see where the hell I was going in the gloomier wooded sections.

Anyways, this is turning out to be a product review, so I’ll leave you with some more snaps…It only remains to be seen if I’m too stiff to drop in tomorrow again!!!!
